Les Tin is the founder of Body Dynamics and the owner of the Body Dynamics Performance Studio.  Joining the fitness industry in 1999, Les has learned from and work with some of the most passionate instructors in the Hawaii and the world.  For the past 10 years, he has worked as a personal trainer, developed and lead successful fitness teams for 24 Hour Fitness as a fitness manager and created and conducted many seminars and workshops for local businesses.  Prior to opening the Body Dynamics Performance Studio in April 2008, Les served as a general manager for one of 24 Hour Fitness' Hawaii clubs.

Since becoming a trainer in 1999, Les had decided to dedicate his time and passion into his new career.  Being a growth oriented individual, he spent most of his time developing, learning and practicing effective exercise methods and techniques that really serve each individual.  Each individual may have the same goals BUT the path to their success are usually not the same.  In fact, each person will encounter obstacles and even those are never the same. 

According to Les,

"I could never understand why so many trainers choose not to study and develop programs for each individual.  Many choose to use cookie cutter programs and hope that it works.  Honestly, any workout will work in the begining.  However, the true measure of success is long-term education and progression for each client.  Not just cool looking and harder exercises.  Sure, they may have different looking workouts but like a cookie cutter, is there really a difference besides a red cutter vs. a green cutter of the same design?  The outcome will still be the same."

Learning and teaching are passions for Les.  His Body Dynamics concept stresses that the body is a highly advanced machine that is capable of many impressive movements.  Efficient total body movement occurs when ALL parts work synergistically.  If you are able to understand how an efficient body moves and responds to movement, then you should be able to identify when it is not being efficient.  This will then lead the instructor to the foundation of creating a growth oriented program.  All too often, many are either inexperienced with proper biomechanics or have decided that it's not worth the time to address it. 

Many people love instant gratification and want results yesterday.  This is a faulty way of thinking because if you allow the body to have deviations and weaknesses without trying to address them, you are purposely creating more deviations that will be harder to correct later or may even contribute to system breakdown.  Furthermore, many deviations and weaknesses could potentially be psychologically reinforced and the physical evidence you see may just be the end result and not the cause.  A performance instructor must condition each body with a holistic approach.  The mind must be trained in addition to the body.

Les has had the opportunity to recruit and develop great trainers.  Each instructor that was mentored by Les has been taught about the importance of being patient with the body and to address all the movement and structural needs prior to "advancing" each workout.  An attractive, high performance, fast and strong body is not just on the outside, it begins on the inside.  So what now?

The Body Dynamics Performance Studio is born!  The facility was created in order to provide a place to continue coaching people to live better.  Since it is not a large operation, we are not motivated by revenue, sales or more facilities opened.  We focus on providing each client with quality instruction, passionate coaching and an environment that allows growth and progress to occur without distractions.  No membership plans, no uneccessary products to sell, no gimmicks.  Just results!  If we don't have it, you don't need it. 


Les is currently on the Academic Board of Advisors for the University of Hawaii at KCC's Exercise Science program. He has earned the following certifications:

Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Asako has been involved with athletics since age 7. She is currently a movie stuntwoman with experience in baseball, cheerleading, dance, karate, track and field, and swimming, to just a name a few. During the pregnancy of her daughter, she became fascinated with health and nutrition primarily for her developing baby. Her pregnancy experience combined with her athletic background helped to develop her passion for athletic performance and fitness.

By combining researched information and a strong commitment to herself, Asako returned to her pre-pregnancy weight within 3 months AND without starving herself. Her personal success sparked her decision to become a personal trainer. Ultimately, her mission is to help people live a happier life through/by teaching them how to do specific/necessary exercises FOR and not AGAINST them, providing clients and community with the best science and service their goals deserve, helping them learn proper body mechanics and effective strength training techniques for continued progression, and assisting them make certain changes in their life to feel better, be stronger, be healthier, eat smarter and to look better.
